Third busy day in a row—busy enough (and dark enough early enough) that Jack and I had to hustle to make it up and down Beech Hill with a little daylight to spare. Inconveniently, as soon as we pulled out onto the road, the sky opened up. It freakin’ poured rain pretty much the whole way over there, and I was imagining the wetness, the chafing, the problem of protecting my camera. But as we pulled into the parking lot off Beech Hill Road, the rain let up, and—other than boots and paws—our hike was relatively dry. Only a little drizzle in the air.
Not many birds in the air. Listed but five, saw only three. Of those, the four or five little yellow-rumps headed south were the most entertaining.
Still, even a soggy landscape can be pretty darn beautiful.
