Balmy

Friday, January 25th, 2013
Brown creeper, Beech Hill, Rockport, Maine. 25 January 2013.

Brown creeper.

A breezy day in the upper teens (F) seems almost balmy compared to a windy day in the single digits. Plus, if the sun’s out, that helps. Such were my thoughts about half-way up the Beech Hill trail today with Jack. I’d already heard chickadees and caught sight of a brown creeper—which would happen to be the only birds (or critters of any kind) we encountered. But never mind. Clear sky. Blue bay. Lovely hike.
