Another day

Cumulus over Clam Cove, Rockport, Maine, 07 August 2014.

Cumulus over Clam Cove.

This day was a lot like yesterday—except I rode my bicycle in a nice hot sun. This afternoon clouds rose, and thunder sounded, and rain came down—albeit nothing like yesterday’s soaker. I didn’t notice many birds. I do see one in the photo here of cumulus clouds. Do you?

Today’s List

1. Red-eyed Vireo (v)
2. Black-capped Chickadee (v)
3. American Crow
4. Herring Gull
5. American Goldfinch (v)
6. Northern Cardinal (v)

Oak leaf, near Clam Cove, Rockport, Maine, 06 August 2014.

Oak leaf.

Had an early meeting on Meadow Street. The back field had just been mowed. In the field stalked three Wild Turkeys, and in the wood beyond sang a talented Hermit Thrush.

Hard rain, near Clam Cove, Rockport, Maine, 06 August 2014.

Hard rain.

Otherwise, an animated day—animated clouds, with sun shining through from time to time until a big rain came. Thunder, then a gullywasher. Kind of fun.

Still no Beech Hill, but that’s OK. I’ll get up there again soon.

Today’s List

1. Red-eyed Vireo (v)
2. American Crow
3. Song Sparrow (v)
4. Herring Gull
5. Mourning Dove
6. Wild Turkey

3. Herring Gull
4. American Goldfinch (v)
5. House Sparrow (v)
