Winter’s End

Friday, March 3rd, 2023

Yesterday’s snow made the trails challenging this morning, what with the warmer temperatures making things icy. But the sky was blue, and the wind wasn’t too strong, and the birds appeared here and there.

Singers included cardinal, bluebird, titmouse, and chickadee. No snow today, but a whole bunch forecast for tomorrow.

Rather like the winters used to be around here—not quick to give up as the equinox approaches.

Still, we’ll be hiking in a snowstorm tomorrow, dog and I.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
