Big Snow

Saturday, March 4th, 2023
Three crows, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 March 2023.
Three crows.

The forecast was for snow, and it was accurate. Had snowed a few hours by the time dog and I first stepped out, and more yet when we headed for the wooded trailhead.

A snowshoe day for sure, and I didn’t expect much in the way of birds—but crows appeared in the high winds and blowing snow, and I heard the song of a titmouse. Then, after our hike, I spied a big waddling group of mallards crossing the road in Glen Cove.

The snowiest day yet, I do believe. But tomorrow’s supposed to have a little sun.
