Yellow-rumps in the Rain

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 11 October 2018.

Yellow-rumped Warbler in the rain.

Today the rains came. First thing I looked at the radar and saw a brief window of mere drizzle and so took Jack up the hill before breakfast (mine, not his). Not a lot of species around—but scores and scores of Yellow-rumped Warblers.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
