The temperature this morning was 40 degrees (F) cooler than it was 24 hours previous. The sky was clear. An energetic wind blew from the west-northwest. Jack and I hiked Beech Hill.
We were along up there again today but for a nice little assortment of winter birds. Spent the most time with a Hairy Woodpecker who works on Sundays—time much appreciated.
A wistful sort of day, though: A casual friend, a good man, died of a stroke last night. Gives you pause. But it’s good to pause from time to time.
