In-bound ferry.
Upper teens when first I rose, into the 20s by the time I’d finished breakfast. Breezy but sunny—so dog and I took off for an early hike.

Find the chickadee.
We were alone up there today. Alone but for the sun and the northwest wind, the brightness and the crow and chickadee. And titmouse. I thought I heard a raven, but I couldn’t be sure because of the rush of the wind.
Post-hike, I got a ton of good desk work done, despite the odd feeling I got in my head this afternoon, as if my hearing had suddenly grown more sensitive or something. Noticed I had a very slow pulse rate (not unusual, what with all my exercise), and I wondered if I should be worried about hypertension. Not that I have any reason to, really—just that my blood-ressure measurements tend to be a little high.
Made it until pretty late tonight, though (i.e., now), so I reckon I’m good for a while yet.
I loved this bright day.
