This is supposed to be the only sunny day this week. Was supposed to be, considering it’s dark as I write this. And a nice day it’s been—not too chilly, not too windy. Plus, I woke up a little less lame than yesterday.
Took a hike with Jack in mid-afternoon, and right away stumbled into a mini kinglet migration along the road. Dog and I stood still. A couple of the birds got too close to focus on. And they move so quickly. Out of maybe two or three dozen exposures, I got maybe two half-way decent photos of the darn things. Someday!
Bunch of other birds out, too—eight species in all. Including a vocal, active female Hairy Woodpecker.
The stars tonight are big and bright.
