Rained pretty hard all night. Kind of half-expected flooding this morning, but no. Just a gray sky and a damp landscape—which, ironically, really causes the fall colors to pop. Lovely, lovely morning. And within a couple hours, the sun emerged, then clouds blew over, then sun, then clouds, courtesy of a windy midday.
In afternoon, Jack and I took a hike. Not that many birds around—certainly not as many sparrows. Some chickadees, some yellow-rumps, a little gang of flickers.
But, man, what lovely scenery.
