Mud hike

February 17th, 2012
Two dogs, Beech Hill, Rockport, Maine, 17 February 2012.

Two dogs.

Crazily, the precipitation that’s fallen here on the 44th parallel has come mostly in the form of rain. As it did again today. More like drizzle, really. But it let up, so I hiked with two dogs the muddy track to the summit of Beech Hill. (Not that we wouldn’t have hiked in a downpour, because we would’ve.) A nice surprise was a small flock of bluebirds in flight.

It rained a little harder tonight. Briefly. Now it’s looking like the temperature might actually dip below freezing.
