It sure enough snowed overnight, as forecast. Rose early, shoveled the drive, then headed up to the trail head with dog and snowshoes. [The snowshoes are always in the bed of my truck, just in case.]
A gloriously sunny morning, with light winds and warmish (upper-20s into the 30s (F)) temperatures, so I thought I might have more bird species on my list than yesterday (when I had three). And I sure enough did—also birds generally, as we encountered a large murder of crows (at least a couple dozen, probably more).
Heard a raven, heard a finch like bird I could not ID (and a couple finches I could). Couple of gulls, couple of cardinals. Singing birds: cardinals, chickadees, and titmice
More snow tomorrow, but warmer so maybe mixed with rain. Guess we’ll find out!
