Chickadee and Shrike

Sunday, November 25th, 2018
Black-capped Chickadee, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 25 November 2018.

Black-capped Chickadee.

Four bird species on the hill this drippy morning, including what I think might be a season-long guest. Saw a Northern Shrike in the same area (possibly the same tree) as the one I spied a few days ago. They do tend—if they show up at all—to stick around all winter.

Beginning at 8:45 a.m., I hiked the open trail.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
