Night snow turned to night rain, and this morning’s whitened landscape had a hard coating. The trail didn’t require snowshoes, but the going might’ve been better with them. Jack followed in my tracks but still aggravated his abrasion and bled a little on the snow. No birds to speak of.
So I stopped off again at the harbor, where diving birds ruled the day—loons, Long-tailed Ducks, Buffleheads. Especially Buffleheads.
