A morning with temps right around freezing, stout winds out of the north-northwest, and a light freezing rain. Didn’t think I’d see many birds during my daily excursion up the hill with Captain Jack.
And I sure enough didn’t. For most of our usual three-mile hike, I had only the dependables: crow and chickadee. But, as yesterday, back at the parking lot, I added a couple more species (kinglet and creeper). And back home, I added a couple more—and out doing errands, another.
There will be days like this. And—judging by the weather reports—the next couple might be among them.
