Began raining before we rose early, dog and I, as expected. In fact, the forecast called for cold rains all day. So, when there appeared to be a little letup, we took off for Beech Hill.
Sure enough, it sprinkled a little throughout our hike, but what a nice, quick, lonesome one it was. By “lonesome,” I mean lacking any other dogs or humans, but there were quite a few birds. Mostly chickadees, it seemed—although I did spy a flock of robins, a solitary yellow-rump, a little gang of goldfinches, and a flicker. (Heard a couple crows but saw none.)
Gotta say, despite finger-numbing temperatures, I love me a little rain. And Jack seems to, too.
