Dream of Tufted Titmouse, Rockport, Maine, 24 December 2017.

Dream of Tufted Titmouse.

For the first time since I can remember, we’ll be getting a genuine white Christmas here on the 44th parallel. Six or eight inches of snow due tomorrow morning in a fast-moving nor’easter.

Today, in a chilly lull, dog and I hiked our hill, saw only distant flitting birds, and spent the rest of the day indoors.

Did have a dream about a titmouse, though.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
