Turkeys crossing

Saturday, January 19th, 2013
Wild turkey, South Street, Rockport, Maine, 19 January 2013.

Wild turkey.

Got warmer overnight and snowed a bit. A couple of inches of light stuff, just enough to give the world a powdered-over, wintry kind of look. High temps just above freezing, not a lot of wind. Nice day for a Saturday hike with the two dogs. (Back to just Jack tomorrow.)

Dormant hillside (Beech Hill, Rockport, Maine. 19 January 2013).

Dormant hillside.

Chickadees chattering about the parking lot. A flicker’s voice somewhere down from the summit. Careful footwork. No spills.

On the trip back, a small flock of turkeys crossed South Street in front of us, so I stopped and got a photo of one of ’em.
