Visit from a harrier

Friday, September 11th, 2015
Northern Harrier, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 11 September 2015.

Northern Harrier.

A rainy morning. An overcast afternoon. Busy Friday. Hike with Jack at 5.

Noteworthy were a busy Black-and-white Warbler that kept to the dim understory, ruining my many attempts at photos, and a Northern Harrier that dipped and weaved and rode the wind above the blueberry slopes.

Every day is improved by a visit from a harrier.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
