Welp, my-dog-Jack poked himself in the eye somehow and wound up with a corneal ulcer that wasn’t healing on its own. Thus, there’ll be the dreaded cone and no hiking for a week or two—poor dude.*
Still, on this nippy morning (10 degrees (F)), I did manage to see a few neighborhood birds, among them a handful of goldfinches dining on sunflower seeds.
*I’ll likely sneak away for a hike or two on my own, though.
