Bluebird box.
Snowing this morning, as forecast. I could tell before I looked from the silence outside. Upper-twenties (F), no sleet or freezing rain to speak of—just snow. Five inches total, maybe. Or six.

Schnozz.
Jack and I hit the hill pretty early. Nobody else there. A pretty strong northwest wind shot snowflakes into our faces when we faced that direction. Stung a little—but that’s exactly the kind of little pain that makes you feel alive.
A little flock of goldfinches eluded my camera lens both on the way up and down. Heard crows and a chickadee. Goldfinches also in the back yard today, along with other feeder birds. Gray squirrels. Snowflakes changing from small to large to small again.
