Fool on the hill.
Pretty good snowfall going on when I woke up. Fairly constant, never heavy, maybe four or five inches total when things wound down in early afternoon. Had a little freezing rain as Jack and I were hiking Beech Hill late in the day, but that was about it.
The temp was 15 degrees (F) at first light, and the wind was whipping on the hill. Definitely the first taste of winter.
Nobody else on the hill when we walked up and down, but I saw cross-country ski tracks and regular hiking tracks. Also saw a solitary, confused-looking Yellow-rumped Warbler fly by. And heard a chickadee.
