A sunny and unseasonable warm morning. A bunch more scrambling to get ready to move. Not many birds on my quick Beech Hill hike with Jack this afternoon—the most excitement came when a gang of noisy crows began harrassing a Northern Harrier above the southern fields. From time to time, the harrier emitted its high-pitched objections.
But the main attraction? The sky. Clear and blue on one side, dark gray and covered with dramatic clouds on the other. Rain approaching from one quadrant, the sun splashing down from another—and all this in what I would call near-peak fall foliage season.
So lovely this time of year.
