Sort of cloudy for much of the day, but the sun broke through late—about the time Jack and I had reached the summit of Beech Hill. A lot of bare ground now on the southern slopes, with the only deep snow on the actual trail itself, from getting packed down. The northern slopes still have snow. Heard a weather forecaster talk about how it’s as if, this year, the calendar has gotten shifted three weeks back or something. Sounds about right.
Except I heard from a friend that her woodcock haven already has four calling out in the wet areas.
Rains due the next few days. Wonder if there’ll be any flooding.
