Slush day

Monday, February 11th, 2013
Rockland Breakwater, Rockland, Maine, 11 February 2013.

Rockland Breakwater.

Rained today. It started as light, wet snow but before long turned into steady rain. The rain, combined with all the gigantic snow drifts everywhere, created great puddles and not a little slush. Jack and I did travel to Beech Hill at the end of it, but I’d forgotten to bring my snowshoes, and for once the steady rain—perhaps in combination with what was sure to be a slow, slushy climb—put me off. Not exactly proud of it, but there you go.

Instead, we drove around a bit, stopping off briefly at Rockland Harbor.

Beech Hill List
Did not hike the hill today.

Elsewhere

1. American crow
2. Mourning dove
3. Herring gull
