A sunny day to start with. Brisk, chilly, but rather nice out. As I stood at my kitchen table doing a little computer surgery, I heard the telltale sound of mobbing crows and stepped out back in hopes of spotting a raptor, but the crows (and whatever they were mobbing) had moved too far up the hill.
Come mid-afternoon, some clouds moved in, and Jack and I set out for our daily exercise. Small birds at the parking lot, dramatic clouds around a hazy sun, a lone ice boat down on Chickawaukie Lake. Soon after our return, again I heard crows out there mobbing. Again, they’d moved too far away to see what they were yelling at. Still, for me, it’s a thrilling sound.
Tonight, a little light snow has begun to fall.
