The Yellow Winter Grass

Eastern Bluebird, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 13 February 2017.

Eastern Bluebird.

A frosty, bright morning coaxed dog and me up the hill. The highlight of this breezy, freezy day: a solitary Snow Bunting and a little flock of bluebirds in the yellow winter grass.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
