Outpost.
By golly, it did snow overnight—and was still snowing when I first looked out at all the whiteness. Not heavily, just steadily. Not too much wind, really. About four or five inches had fallen, though. Continued for most of the day, too, ending with perhaps six or seven inches total.

Nose of dog, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 21 March 2016.
But that was OK on the first full day of spring. Kind of interesting, even. Took Jack up to Beech Hill early. We were the first ones there.
Slipped and fell twice on the trail, which dog seemed to find amusing. Ended up with only two species on my list. Chickadee and crow. Crow and chickadee.
Elsewhere, I admired a flock of pigeons huddled atop a steep roof downtown. And I happened to spot some waxwings flying over. The sun came out late in the day.
The snow will melt soon enough, though. Steadily passes dependable time.
