Slush

Monday, January 6th, 2014
The thawing, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 06 January 2014.

The thawing.

Rain and fog and thaw and warmth and wicked slippery ice underfoot and runoff and howling wind. Didn’t feel like hiking with dog, but of course we did. The trail was slush, visibility was minimal. The east wind was loud and crazy. Both my boots ended up filled with water.

Did see a couple of chickadees, though.

The high temperature tomorrow is supposed to be in the teens (F). Should be interesting.

Beech Hill List
Beginning at 2:30 p.m., I hiked the open trail.

1. Black-capped chickadee

Elsewhere

2. American crow (v)

v = Voice only
