Many Maine households still without power today, which makes me feel a little guilty for having lights and a water heater and bandwidth. And yet the first thing I do is walk away from it all to ramble about a hill with my dog.
Starlings in the yard, sun above the eastern horizon, chilly temperatures, little wind. A the hill, the usual birds, though none would pose for pictures. I did, however, get cooperation from two chipmunks and two Autumn Meadowhawks.
The day warmed into a lovely one.
