Hikers

Captain Jack, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 14 January 2015.

Captain Jack.

My dog and I are hikers. Every day we hike—or you might say walk, but briskly, and uphill.

January bouquet.

Rose this morning well before dawn when the temperature was about ten degrees below zero. Got back home a few hours later, as the sun was rising. Then clouds moved over, and the temperature rose into the twenties, and Jack and I took a hike.

Saw another Yellow-rumped Warbler, heard a chickadee.

Saw a few other people and one dog.

To bed early tonight—me and my fellow hiker.
