Dead ovenbird.
I broke my collarbone in a bicycle accident last weekend. Sorry to have missed a couple of days.
Perhaps fittingly—or at least in keeping with the theme of misfortune—the bird highlight of today involved the death of an ovenbird on my back deck. It’s the first bird to have died after flying into a window here, as far as I know.

I have not visited Beech Hill in three days. (Bummer.)
