 Blue Jay.
On this mostly rainy Sunday, I got a lot of desk work done, then hiked a foggy hill with my dog. The trees were drippy, and little birds were flitting around all over the place. Spotted three warbler species (Black-and-white, Northern Parula, and Chestnut-sided).
Also, after weeks of wearing shorts and sandals, I ended up in jeans and a sweatshirt today. Not sure it ever got to sixty (F).

 Young Savannah Sparrow.
Sunny, steamy—but still no rain. A productive day, a nice late-afternoon hike up the sweet, humid, warm hill.
 American Lady.
Birds about included sparrows (four species) and a group of panting crows. American Lady butterflies chasing each other around the west side of Beech Nut at the summit, as they do every year about this time. Ripening berries of all kinds.
Deep summer, sweet and warm.

 Song Sparrow.
The day started sunny but developed a hazy overcast. Had an early disappointment which left me despondent for a while, but I got over it. And Jack and I had a good late hike.

Might get some thundershowers tonight.
