Sun and wind

Imitation of life, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 23 November 2013.

Imitation of life.

The day dawned clear. I moved some stuff, sold a thing, stacked a bunch of crap in the bed of my pickup and took it all to the dump for recycling. And I hiked Beech Hill with Jack.

Was a windy day, good and windy. Not awful cold—maybe low 40s (F)—but windy enough that I wore a scarf and gloves on our hike. Met a couple other pairs of hikers walking briskly up there and spotted three blaze-orange-clad hunters (a dad or grandpa with two youngsters) down the eastern slope. A lot of sun and wind today.

Speaking of the sun, it set at 4:02 p.m. today.
