Ah, Rain

Tree Swallow, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 15 May 2018.

Tree Swallow.

This morning I heard a slow-talking vireo. Seemed a little early for red-eyes, but that’s what it sounded like. Snuck up. Sure enough, a first-of-year Red-eyed Vireo.

Also heard a Blue-headed Vireo—an early bird here. Not often have I had both on my list in the same day.

Warm, muggy morning. Rain came this evening. Ah, rain.
