Tree Swallow pair, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 24 April 2018.

Tree Swallow pair.

Had a first-of-year kingfisher today. Wouldn’t have noticed it flying over the hill had it not rattled out the species typical call. Not the first year I’ve seen them fly over. Maybe the third?

Otherwise, quite a few species moving through. Plus, woodpeckers.

Mostly just swallows galore.

American Kestrel.

Sun and sky and breeze and falcons. A kestrel. A merlin. Two more kestrels. Also a couple other hawks—a broad-wing and a harrier—and assorted other April species.
