My Pal “Ruff”

Ruffed Grouse.

This sunny, breezy, lovely morning, I hiked with Jack to the accompaniment of Eastern Bluebirds and Blue Jays, then returned to encounter—again—my Ruffed Grouse friend. I’ve taken to calling him “Ruff.”

Quiet on the hill today, so I swung by the harbor, where I watched Buffleheads for a while. Such feisty little diving ducks.
