Yellow Warblers

Yellow Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 2018.

Yellow Warbler.

Had a lovely hike this morning. Heard a Wood Thrush, watched a raven browse in the blueberries, spent a while following a drama involving yellow warblers. Three or four or five of these warblers were rushing about in a birch tree, engaging in a mad courtship and/or territorial battles.

A highlight of my walk with Jack—made  for a truly interesting morning.

Hello, Nashville

Sunday, May 20th, 2018
Nashville Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 20 May 2018.

Nashville Warbler.

The Nashville Warbler is a shy bird, in my experience. I hear their song all the time but can only seem to get glimpses of their unassuming gray-over-yellow plumage and white eye-ring. Just glimpses before they flit.

Until today. Today, somehow, I got a halfway decent photo.

Hello, Nashville.

American Robin.

Led a bird walk up the wooded trail this morning, which was a lot of fun. Afterward, I hiked all trails with Jack. My feet got kind of sore from all that hiking—but in a good way.

Here’s a photo of a robin.
