Confused Bluebird

Tuesday, October 10th, 2017
Eastern Bluebird, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 10 October 2017.

Eastern Bluebird.

This brilliant, sun-splashed morning after a mild night rain proved humid and warm—upper-70s (F) at the height of it—in an unseasonable patch of weather that brought out some bluebirds. I spotted several flitting about the roof of Beech Nut—and one even made a stop on the roof of a bluebird box.

Oops.

If you want to see some White-throated Sparrows on a stopover during fall migration, just head up to the summit of Beech Hill and tiptoe into the spruce grove. They’re up there.
