Eastern Bluebird (female).

On the hill this morning, goldfinches were flocking by the dozens, while the bluebirds were dividing into pairs.

Thick-billed Murre, Rockport Harbor, Maine, 27 February 2018.

Thick-billed Murre.

I’m not sure I’d ever seen a Thick-billed Murre before today. Maybe I had, but I sure don’t remember. Nonetheless, there one was, wearing non-breeding attire and bobbing about in Rockport’s inner harbor this afternoon when I dropped by the public landing.
